Dear TBSA Recreational and Travel FC Families:
We have good news to share!
Effective May 15, 2021, the use of facial coverings by athletes, team officials, referees, spectators, etc. during outdoor activities is no longer required.
We still have a few Return to Play changes to follow.
Social distancing should still occur as much as possible, and families should attempt to leave the fields as soon as games end so the late games crowds can comfortably distance themselves.
Teams will not shake hands or High Five after games instead both teams will come to mid-field and thank, congratulate, or cheer on the other team and officials.
As much as we love our gummies and juice boxes Team snacks are still not going to be permitted this season.
In U10 Rec, U14 Rec and all Alpena FC travel teams where USSF referees are being used only Risk Management approved coaches, TBSA staff and Referees can sit on same side as teams or near benches. Parents and Spectators must sit the opposite side of field. If you want to sit next to your player in these older groups, please volunteer to be a coach.
Again, starting May 15th at 9:00 AM, the use of facial coverings by athletes, team officials, referees, spectators, parents/guardians, etc., during outdoor TBSA and MSYSA affiliated activities are now a personal decision. TBSA strongly urges our families to be mindful, and respectful, of those who may have the desire to continue their use of facial coverings.
Weekly testing (SARS-CoV-2) of all unvaccinated athletes (ages 13-19) is still required for participation in organized sports, including youth (club) soccer. Unvaccinated participants (ages 13-19) can only participate in organized sports with proof of a negative diagnostic test (antigen or RT-PCR) on at least a weekly basis. Fully vaccinated persons are not subject to the weekly testing requirements.
It is a good start to getting back to the game we know. Can’t wait to actually see some smiling faces at the fields again.
